Minister Fidan: We are completely opposed to the project of displacing the Palestinian people from Gaza

Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan stated, “We completely oppose the proposal to displace the Palestinian people from Gaza and send them to other countries. This suggestion violates humanitarian law.”

In response to U.S. President Donald Trump’s plan, Fidan emphasized, “We firmly stand against any project that aims to displace the Palestinian people from Gaza. Sending them to other countries is unacceptable and contradicts humanitarian principles.”

Security in Syria

Security must be established throughout Syria. Fidan highlighted the importance of this issue, stating, “It is crucial for armed groups to unite under a national army.”

Additionally, he noted that both Turkey and Syria must continue the fight against terrorism, which includes battling ISIS and the PKK/YPG. Currently, the Damascus administration is working to find a solution regarding the YPG. We are closely monitoring this situation. Our hope is to resolve this issue without bloodshed. However, we cannot tolerate the presence and continuation of terrorism in Syria.

Establishing a New Government

The establishment of a new government in Syria and the appointment of a president are significant developments. These steps are essential for addressing uncertainties in the country. As you know, there was a need for a state administration and cabinet to resolve urgent issues and ensure international engagement.

As a first step, I believe that the announcement of the president by the main groups, followed by the formation of an inclusive government, will eliminate a major source of uncertainty. Therefore, it is crucial that the subsequent political process is conducted in a comprehensive, mature, and democratic manner by the Syrian administration.
