In Antalya, at the historic Clock Tower, a time problem is being solved

The historic Clock Tower, a symbol of Antalya located at the entrance of Kaleiçi in the Kalekapısı area, has recently faced a stopping issue with its newly renovated clock mechanism. Due to frequent power outages, the clock has been unable to function properly. In response, the Antalya Governorship’s Investment Monitoring and Coordination Directorate (YIKOB) has issued a statement regarding the matter.

The statement highlighted that the performance of the clock mechanism has been regularly monitored since its installation. However, it was determined that the clock was affected by electrical interruptions. As a solution, it has been decided to implement a power source to rectify this issue. YIKOB announced that they will procure a power source as soon as possible to resolve the problem.

The Clock Tower, restored with a budget of 3.6 million Turkish Lira, is expected to operate continuously with the addition of a power source, ensuring that the newly renovated clock mechanism functions without interruption.

This initiative not only preserves a significant historical landmark but also enhances the visitor experience in Antalya’s Kaleiçi district.
