Mount Nemrut, located in Adıyaman, Türkiye, stands at an elevation of 2,150 meters and captivates visitors with its historical and natural beauty.
The summit, adorned with monumental statues dedicated to gods and humans by the last king of the Commagene Kingdom, King Antiochus I, is considered one of the world’s most impressive archaeological sites.
Mount Nemrut symbolizes the meeting point of Eastern and Western civilizations.
Today, Mount Nemrut hosts numerous nomadic families and thousands of small livestock, thanks to its water resources, fertile pastures, and clean, cool air, especially attracting those from the hot provinces of Southeastern Anatolia.
The dust clouds created by the herds as they pass through the valley blend beautifully with the redness of the sunset.
Twice a day, the animals are brought along the dusty road to Kalp Lake, where they are both milked and provided with water.
