CHP Chairman Özgür Özel stated that President Erdoğan should also attend the session of the Turkish Grand National Assembly on October 8 regarding the threat from Israel.
Özel said, “The President needs to come to the podium of the Assembly and share all the evidence related to the Israeli threat. My concern is that this issue is being inflated as an artificial agenda to restore the political credibility lost due to security concerns. If anyone attempts to do this, I will expose the records of the closed session.”
Özel stated, “If the President of a country comes to the podium of the Assembly and says, ‘Israel will soon attack us; our targets are the Anatolian lands, and we are here,’ he must immediately share all the justifications, all the evidence, and all the intelligence in that Assembly. He will not be able to do this in an open session, so we suggested that it be a closed session where we can receive information. I find it positive that the Assembly is convening. However, it is essential for Mr. Erdoğan to attend that session.”
