Iranian director wins best film award at Gordion Archaeofilm Festival

The award ceremony of the “Gordion Archaeofilm Festival” organized for the promotion of the ancient city of Gordion, one of the most important ancient cities of Türkiye, was held.

Gordion is an ancient city in modern-day Türkiye, located about 94 kilometers from Ankara. Known as the capital of the Phrygian Kingdom, Gordion draws attention with its rich historical and cultural heritage.

Iranian director Hossein Ranjbar Shirazi’s “Symphony of The Knots” won the best professional film award at the “Gordion Archaeofilm Festival” organized within the scope of promotional activities for the ancient city of Gordion, which was included in the UNESCO World Heritage List last year.

The special jury prize went to “Pail” by Yemeni director Adel Mohammed Alhaimi.

The best student film award went to “The Golden Flower of Safranbolu” by director Başak Çardak from Türkiye.

Special jury awards in the student category went to “Portaraits Of Ajuda” by Ana Rita Costa-Andre Vieira from Portugal and “Sultan’s Crown” by director Yüksel Çilingir from Türkiye.

At the award ceremony held in the Yassıhöyük Neighborhood, Midas Tumulus and Gordion Museum parking area, the awards of the winners were presented by the protocol members.

In addition to Türkiye, 827 works from Azerbaijan, the USA, the UK, Iran, Iran, Portugal and Yemen participated in the Gordion Archaeofilm Festival.
